Single Pipe Barrier – Strap & Guide Rail Upgrade

The Single Pipe Barrier with spring has been updated with a high-quality webbing strap in combination with a redesigned guiding rail, replacing the previous rope and guide construction. This update improves durability, alignment and service life in demanding livestock environments.

→ Reason for change
Field experience has shown that the previous rope and guiding rail configuration was prone to accelerated wear due to:

  • High friction during repeated opening and closing
  • Contamination from dirt, moisture and manure
  • Rope wear and inconsistent tracking within the rail

To address this, both the load-carrying element and the guiding system have been improved.

→ Description of the update

  • Rope replaced by a reinforced webbing strap
  • Existing guiding rail replaced by an updated guiding rail designed for strap use
  • Improved strap alignment within the guide
  • Reduced friction and wear at contact points
  • No change to barrier dimensions, spring function or mounting position

→ Affected part numbers (new production)
The following products are now supplied as standard with the strap and updated guiding rail:

  • 5550-4160-360 – Barrier with spring, alley width 220–360 cm
  • 5550-4160-400 – Barrier with spring, alley width 250–400 cm
  • 5550-4160-600 – Barrier with spring, alley width 350–600 cm

→ Retrofit solution
A retrofit solution is available to upgrade existing installations to the new strap and guiding rail system.
