Research Shows Heat Stress Means Loss

Problems start from 14°C with reproduction already beginning to decline. Higher temperatures make it harder for cows to regulate body temperature, causing stress that disrupts hormonal balance and reduces fertility. Even a small 2 percent drop in conception rates can lead to extra inseminations and calving delays, reducing annual milk yield.

At 22°C the impact is greater. Milk production drops significantly depending on breed and barn conditions, with cows losing 1 to 2 liters per day. For a herd of 100 cows this means 100 to 200 liters less milk daily.
