Sidewall Ventilation - Down to Top
Direct ventilation at animal level
With down to top sidewall ventilation, the system opens from bottom to top. This allows fresh air to enter directly at animal level, which is especially effective during warm periods or in barns with a more open character.
Applied systems
Within this principle, the BCD and BF systems are applied.

Functional characteristics
The BCD stands out because no bottom wall is required and because the central tube provides extra stability at greater heights. The BF system has a simpler design, is highly wear-resistant and attractively priced. Both systems have few moving parts, contributing to a long service life.
Functional characteristics
- The curtain opens from bottom to top. The maximum opening height is up to approximately 4.5 metres for the BCD and 2.7 metres for the BF. Opening widths up to 50 metres are possible, with manual or electric drive. Connection to a weather computer or switch is also possible.
Practical benefits
- Down to top ventilation enables fast and targeted ventilation, is easy to operate and is particularly effective during hot weather or when direct air exchange is required.
