Cows overwhelmingly choose Royal de Boer's B3130 cubicle at dairy farmer Johannes!
In Nijega, Friesland, dairy farmer Johannes van der Velde runs a dairy farm with about 200 cows together with his father. They also have about 100 cows in Sumar. Since eight years they have a new barn, where most of their products are from Royal de Boer. In addition, Johannes and his father have also made their barn available as a testing location for Royal de Boer. So our product engineer Sake comes over regularly to test and optimize his latest products. We asked Johannes about his experiences.
Cooperation with Royal de Boer
"Because we are a test location, we have a lot of close contact with Royal de Boer. Sake, Royal de Boer's product engineer, regularly visits us to test new products or optimize products. We think innovation is very important, which is why we are happy to make ourselves available. This way we can contribute to the improvement of products and together we ensure that livestock farmers can benefit from this in turn."
Short lines and close to home
"The great thing about Royal de Boer is that they are right around the corner and help is therefore quickly on site. In addition, we have good contact with the men from Royal de Boer and know exactly who we need. The service and contact is therefore very good. We've liked that very much for years and wouldn't want anything else."
The cow chooses the B3130
"Since we have been using the B3130 we have noticed from the cows that they can move better and are very comfortable in their bedding. In addition, no more cows have hurt or damaged themselves. This is exactly what we are looking for in a lying bed and what we naturally want to achieve as farmers. We still have some old lying bed systems in the barn and you notice that the cows overwhelmingly prefer to lie in the new cubicles. We have therefore installed another row of B3130 bedding systems on the other side of the barn so that the cows don't just stay on one side of the barn. The cows overwhelmingly choose the B3130, which is great to see."
